Manchester United star Daley Blind is closing in on a move to former club Ajax after Jose Mourinho left the Dutchman out of his pre-season squad to play in the United States.
Louis van Gaal signed Blind from Ajax in 2014 after working with the utility man when he managed the Netherlands and the versatile Dutchman proved popular at Old Trafford during his debut campaign.
Blind has been used at centre-back, left-back and central midfield during his time at the Red Devils and has won the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League in four years at the club.
However, Blind struggled for form and fitness last season and barely featured during Mourinhos second season at the club.
United flew to Los Angeles on Sunday evening and Blind was not with the travelling party as the Red Devils expect him to complete his move away from the club in the next week.
United paid Ajax around £13.9m for Blind in 2014 but stand to make a profit by selling him back to the Dutch giants with a potential deal reaching £18m.

Blind wasnt the only missing first-team member from Uniteds squad as Alexis Sanchez was also left out.
The Red Devils are already taking a depleted team to the States given the involvement of nine first-team members in the latter stages of the World Cup and its unclear why the Chilean was not on board.
