Ousmane Dembele is set to stay at Barcelona after team-mate Nelson Semedo revealed he is “totally committed” to the La Liga club.

The news comes as a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool as both sides were looking at potentially bringing the 21-year-old to the Premier League in January.

Both sides are looking to strengthen their squads for a busy second half of the season, with Jurgen Klopps team currently looking like Manchester Citys biggest challengers for the trophy.

But Semedo squashed rumours suggesting Dembele was planning to leave, and insisted that the former Borussia Dortmund star is still fully focused on the Catalan giants.

He is an excellent player, with a lot of potential and will help us a lot, Semedo told ESPN. He is totally committed to the team. Now he is more responsible and is showing it in the field.

The Frenchman has two assists and one goal in his last three matches, and will be looking to extend his good form in Barcelonas next match against Espanyol on December 8.
