Jurgen Klopp has been handed a surprise injury boost ahead of Liverpools game against Bournemouth after Sadio Mane travelled with the squad to the south coast.
The 26-year-old had looked certain to miss the game having sat out the midweek win over Burnley after sustaining a foot injury against Everton in the Merseyside derby last weekend.
Speaking ahead of Saturdays lunchtime kick-off at the Vitality, Klopp seemed to confirm that Mane would be absent for a second consecutive game.
Sadio is now out and tries to run first time so that doesnt sound like he will be ready for tomorrow, he said.
Hopefully he can finish the programme today we did for him.
However, Mane made the trip down to Bournemouth after being assessed by Liverpools medical staff on Friday evening and a decision will be made over his involvement on Saturday morning.
Should Mane be fit enough to start or even make the bench it would be great news for Liverpool as they look to chase down Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
Mane has scored six goals and registered one assist for the Reds in the Premier League having started all but two of their matches in the competition.
A win for Liverpool would pile the pressure on Manchester City who play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
