ASOS has been slammed online after one of its shoppers came across an image of a model wearing a dress held together with clips.
The model wore a £35 ASOS DESIGN midi dress with cami straps and cut-out detail. From the front it looked absolutely perfect, but from a side angle you could see it was being held together by clips.
Ronnie came across the images and shared them to Twitter, captioning them: uhmm @ASOS ..think you forgot to edit those clips out.
The tweet received more than 3,000 retweets and 17,000 likes, with many commenting to explain they thought it was a bad move for ASOS to use clips – and that they should have either found a model to fit the dress, or given the model a dress that actually fit.

One person said: Hey @ASOS_HeretoHelp why not clearly show how the dress fits, instead of changing it to fit in a different way than it clearly wouldnt without the clip, definitely an idea for the specialist team.
Another said: Wow, these sorts of things makes girls and even guys feel soo s**** like make the clothes actually fit a normal person and dont clip it so its a different shape than what its actually gonna turn up like! F*** the edited bs give us the pictures that show the clothes that fit.
ASOS responded rather quickly to the tweet – but instead of highlighting the issue they simply thanked Ronnie for pointing the clips out… and then went on to re-edit the photo without the clips.

Of course, this confused other shoppers who jumped onto ASOS retweet to call them out for not explaining why they didnt just show how the dress fits without the clips, to give customers a more accurate view.

One person wrote: Yikes ASOS, how can you tighten up your returns policy, saying you will look out for patterns, yet misrepresent the fit of clothes in the first place.. When customers try the clothes on at home, they will inevitably be returned if completely different to the site!
