Rudd: EU registration easy as “setting up LK Bennett account”

The post-Brexit registration process will be as easy as "setting up an online account at LK Bennett", home secretary Amber Rudd has said.

Speaking at a private business dinner earlier this month, Rudd said she was confident neither her department not the three million EU citizens already living in the UK would have problems registering for settled status, the FT reports.

Premium clothing brand LK Bennett is one of Prime Minister Theresa May's favourites. She was once given a discount card to shop there.

But it was seized upon by Labour frontbencher Laura Pidcock, who tweeted that it was proof of "how out of touch they are".

"Government of the rich, by the rich, for the rich," she added.

Nothing shocks me about this Govt any more, but @AmberRuddHR comparing the registration process for settled status for worried EU citizens to opening a high end store card online, pretty much sums up how out of touch they are.
