Defeat to Manchester United has triggered incredible Eden Hazard offer at Chelsea
Chelsea are desperately seeking to make headway in contract talks with Eden Hazard in a bid to lift the club at a difficult time, so much so they will offer him in excess of £300,000-a-week.
The Blues want their star player to commit to a new contract, with his current deal expiring in 2020, amid speculation Real Madrid will make a bid for the Belgian this summer.
However, they also see it as an opportunity to lift the mood at the club.
Following defeat to Manchester United at the weekend the club slipped outside the Champions League qualification places. Their stay in this season’s Champions League is also in the balance after a 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie.

The Daily Mailreport that the club believe if headway can be made in contract talks with Hazard, it could provide a timely lift that may just help them achieve this season’s targets.
Chelsea would also like to make progress in talks with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is also a target for Real Madrid.
It’s claimed the reigning Premier League champions are prepared to pay Hazard around £300,000-a-week plus bonuses to convince him to stay.
The player himself has always insisted he’s happy at Stamford Bridge but it’s understood he’s waiting to see what sort of play Real Madrid make for him in the summer.
