Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has accused Manchester City stars of diving ahead of Sunday’s derby at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola’s men have an eight-point lead at the top of the table before the clash at the Theatre of Dreams and City have dropped just two points in their opening 15 matches this term.

Arsene Wenger accused Raheem Sterling of diving during City’s 3-1 win against Arsenal in November, while Sean Dyche was also unhappy with Bernardo Silva.

Mourinho accused Arsenal of going to ground too easily in United’s 3-1 win at the Emirates last weekend and he’s claimed City players dive as well.

‘They are a good team. They defend well, they react well to the moment they lose the ball,’ said Mourinho.

‘They have a good dynamic in attack, they have creative movement, they have amazing players, they have a fantastic coach, they have lots of good things.

‘One thing that I don’t like a lot is that they lose their balance very easily.’

Guardiola’s men arrive as favourites at Old Trafford but United have won every single home game so far this term.

Mourinho famously clashed with Guardiola during his time in Spain and he’s reignited a potential war of words by claiming he would not be able to deliver a ‘political message’ like the Spanaird does [Guardiola wears a yellow ribbon to back Catalonia Independence].

‘If the rules allow us to do that, he is a free citizen. My doubt is if the rules allow any political message on the pitch,’ said Mourinho.

‘I don’t think I would be allowed to.’
