Ron Klain: The Resistance Movement ‘Stopped Trump From Building the Wall’

byPam Key21 Dec 20170

Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Beat With Ari Melber,” former Obama administration official Ron Klain claimed the so-called Resistance movement “stopped” President Donald Trump from building his proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Klain said, “What has been fascinating about 2017 is how much of the energy of the resistance is coming from the men and women in the street. It started with the Women’s March on the day after Trump’s inauguration right through the Me Too movement this year, and mostly through the overall Resistance movement. And it’s been a popular movement.”

He added, “I think we are going to look back at 2017 the way people now look back at 1968 as a year of protest, a year of people getting activated. And those protests have had results. We stopped Trump from building the wall, Obamacare is still alive, the numbers out today show as many people have signed up this year as last year, some of the worst people have been run out of the White House. We had huge victories in Virginia and shockingly in Alabama. I think it has been an incredible year of protest and change from grassroots through resistance.”
