Michael Bisping has turned down Derek Brunson’s fight offer, insisting he has ‘bigger fish to fry’.

The former UFC champion seems set for a retirement bout in the next few months, but will not compete at UFC London due to health reasons.

Bisping lost his middleweight title last year to Georges St-Pierre, and is now focused on hanging up his gloves in the next year.

Brunson, who was knocked out Ronaldo Souza in January, called Bisping out this week and even posted a mock-up of his signature on a bout agreement.

But, Bisping is uninterested in fighting Brunson, but applauded his fellow fighter’s efforts.

‘Photoshop is a fantastic thing because I have not been offered a fight with ‘Derelict’ Brunson,’ Bisping said on UFC Tonight.

Dear @bisping,

You’re no easy fight. Obviously you’re ranked ahead of me… it only makes sense for a #6 being you and #7 being me to fight. Upside for both of us. The top half of the division is older than us both stop crying. You aren’t going anywhere, neither am I. pic.twitter.com/3mTRfZqKns

‘The reason I say ‘Derelict’ Brunson is because I think he’s still a shadow of his former self after getting knocked out by ‘Jacare’ [Souza] recently.

‘Derek, you’re a good guy, you’re making moves but I’ve got bigger fish to fry. I don’t even know whose bout agreement that is. Derek, good try.’

Bisping turns 39 next week and is fresh off two painful losses after Kelvin Gastelum knocked the Brit out just 21 days after GSP choked him out in New York.

The UFC and Bisping’s family blocked him from competing in London next month and the middleweight is looking to make new plans for his farewell bout.

Bisping has been a pioneer in MMA for Brits and was the first UK fighter to win a UFC title.
