Jurgen Klopp’s reaction to Champions League draw: Beguiristain’s face didn’t look like it was Christmas
Manchester City are the favourites to beat Liverpool in their Champions League quarter-final, but the Sky Blues’ director of football looked worried when his side drew the Reds.
The Uefa camera was fixed on Txiki Begiristain when it was confirmed Liverpool would meet City and the Spaniard noticeably shifted in his seat and straightened his tie.
There was then a grimace and a drop of the head from Begiristain, but perhaps the City chief was more disappointed to draw a fellow English side, rather displaying any fear of playing Liverpool.

Liverpool are the only Premier League side to beat City this season and two of their four defeats this campaign have come in Europe.
Reds fans could not help but notice Begiristain’s reaction and may take some hope from his body language.
Jurgen Klopp too spotted Begiristain’s reaction and thinks it might suggest City are not totally confident of beating Liverpool over two legs.
He said: ‘I saw Beguiristain’s face after the draw and he didn’t look like it was Christmas.
‘There will be a point where I’m looking forward to that game. But I’m already angry as the Everton game has been moved to 12.30 on Saturday. Now it’s Wednesday night and Everton on Saturday morning.’
Liverpool welcome City to Anfield on Wednesday April 4 and the second leg will be played at the Etihad on April 10.
Both sides must play crucial local derbies in between the two legs of the quarter-final and Liverpool’s game has been moved forward as a result.
Liverpool will now play Everton on Saturday April 7, while City host Manchester United on the same day.
City will take confidence from the fact they mauled the Reds 5-0 at the Etihad earlier in the season.
