Manchester United could rival Arsenal and Tottenham in race to sign West Brom defender Jonny Evans
Manchester United could rival Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign West Brom defender Jonny Evans this summer, reports say.
A number of Premier League clubs are continuing to monitor Evans’ situation at the Hawthorns with the Baggies destined for relegation under Alan Pardew.
Arsenal had a deadline day bid for Evans rejected by West Brom in January, while Manchester City expressed interest in securing his services last summer.

Evans has a £3million release clause written into his contract that can be activated if West Brom go down, and The Telegraph say United are among the clubs who could launch a move.

The 30-year-old started his career at Old Trafford, breaking into the first-team in 2006 and going on to play almost 200 games for the club. In nine years at United he won three Premier League titles.
Jose Mourinho is set to oversee a summer overhaul and is believed to be ready to sell a number of current players following the shock Champions League defeat to Sevilla.
But United will face fierce competition in the race to sign Evans, with Tottenham also said to be preparing a swoop if Toby Alderweireld leaves.
The Belgian has impressed for Spurs over the past three years but is still no closer to signing a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2019.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona are among the clubs being linked with the 29-year-old, who Tottenham value at over £40million.
