Jose Mourinho makes offer to Barcelona star Samuel Umtiti in private phone call
Barcelona star Samuel Umtiti is edging closer to joining Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
Umtiti has made 76 appearances for Barca since arriving at the Nou Camp back in 2016 but the 24-year-old defender has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months.
The France international is understood to be demanding £150,000-a-week (£7.9million-a-year) to stay on at Barca – a wage packet which United have already tabled.

Sport suggests Jose Mourinho personally offered Umtiti these wages in a private phone call and the centre-back has had his head turned.
Mourinho is believed to have been in regular contact with the former Lyon man.
Its claimed Umtiti is now distancing himself from a future in Catalonia and Barca are scouring the market for possible replacements.

The Red Devils are preparing to sell a number of defenders at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, with Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Chris Smalling set for the exit door at Old Trafford.
Mourinho has also urged United chiefs to cash-in on Daley Blind and Ander Herrera to raise funds for the likes of Umtiti.
