Luke Shaw challenged Jose Mourinhos decision to replace him at half-time during Manchester Uniteds FA Cup tie with Brighton in a blazing row, according to reports.

The left-back was taken off after the first 45 minutes with Mourinho unhappy with his performance.

The Daily Mail report that Shaw snapped upon being told of the decision during the half-time break and demanded answers from the Manchester United manager.

The England defender is alleged to have said: Why are you always picking on me?

Mourinho responded by telling Shaw he wasnt defending well enough, which is the reason he gave in post-match interviews when asked why he had replaced the 22-year-old with Ashley Young.

The Daily Mail adds that the row could be heard from outside the changing room such was its ferocity.

The incident was the latest in a series of falling outs between the pair with Mourinho have publicly questioned the former Southampton player on numerous occasions.

The Manchester United manager is understood to have doubts about Shaws focus and his ability to follow tactical instructions.

The situation has led to an expectancy Shaw, who has started just six Premier League games this term, will leave Old Trafford this summer.
