Hong Kong Betting Tips: Magic Moreira can leave fans buzzing with Circuit

RACING returns to Happy Valley this afternoon after last weeks Easter holiday and Chinese cultural festival. You can guarantee that racing enthusiasts and fans will flock in their thousands to the inner-city track after being starved of their weekly dose of excitement.
Over the last couple of months at the Valley, results have demonstrated a track bias in favour of horses positioned near the front and drawn low.
This looks like continuing this afternoon with the A course historically favouring horses drawn with low numbers, especially over six furlongs.
With little or no rain in Hong Kong over the last month, expect unseasonably fast conditions at the Valley, which will further enhance the prospects of horses being prominent from the off.
The highlight of the afternoon is the Class 2 Pottinger Peak Handicap, run over an extended mile.
This is a fiendishly difficult puzzle to solve, with over half of the 10 runners having good chances on their best form, but the biggest imponderable is who will dictate the tempo or make the running?
Both well-drawn top-weight Litterateur, who is seeking a hat-trick, and the vastly improved Winning Faith, looking to complete a four-timer, have obvious chances, while the unpredictable but talented Rickfield looks to be at his peak following an eye-catching trial recently.
The question mark over this trio however, is they all need a genuine speedy tempo to produce their best form, and its hard to see where the early pace is going to come from.
Its interesting that champion jockey Joao Moreira climbs aboard the John Moore-trained CIRCUIT GLORY (3.15pm) who was an expensive New Zealand purchase.
This former five-time winner back in his native country has yet to salute the judge in half a dozen races in HK, but has had a few excuses in recent races.
The Moreira and Moore combination carried all before them in previous years before they parted ways at the end of last season.
This term they have only combined 11 times, but still boast a pretty good strike-rate, winning twice and securing five places.
Anticipate Moreira having this four-year-old, who won a Group Two in New Zealand, up near the front from the off – and kicking for glory before the home stretch.
