IPL Betting Preview: Colin Munro can finally get his season up and running
Mumbai Indians, last years winners, have suffered a horrible start to the defence of their crown. They have lost twice, to Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. But with the manner of those losses the players could be forgiven for reckoning someone upstairs is playing tricks on them.
In the tournament opener against Chennai they had the game won. In their pocket. Chennai were chasing 166 and Mumbai had reduced them to 118 for eight with 15 balls left. In the live betting markets Mumbai were 1-100. But Dwayne Bravo produced the innings of his life and they were beaten by one wicket with one ball left.
Against Sunrisers they were behind the eight ball throughout the match. Batting first they were tied in knots by the brilliant spinner, Rashid Khan, and they could only muster 147. Sunrisers set about their bowlers with as much relish as a fat guy at an all you can eat Vegas buffet. Sunrisers were cruising at 73 for one in the eighth.

But Mumbai mounted a comeback and, guess what, they had the game in their pocket again. Mustafizur Rahman, better known as The Fizz, claimed four scalps in quick time and Sunrisers were left needing 11 off the final over with one wicket left. They lost.
Against Delhi Daredevils they will probably being feeling petrified about taking to the field. What calamity can befall them this time?
In that regard it is no fun to be backing them at odds-on for victory. They are 4-6 with Betfair Sportsbook, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power and Coral. Delhi, who have also lost their first two matches, are 13-10 with Bet365. Delhi are a perfectly acceptable bet.
But our money will be back on Colin Munro to be top bat for Delhi. Hes had a torrid time so far and will be fuming at how he was run out without facing a ball against Rajasthan Royals in a rain-affected game that they really should have won.
Munro, as we have said before, has found Indian pitches to his liking in the past and in the opening berth he has an opportunity to get his season up and running.
