Things went from bad to worse for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following Arsenals 2-1 defeat to Newcastle.

The afternoon started positively for Aubameyang after the striker set up Alexandre Lacazette in the 14th minute for the opening goal at St James Park.

However, Ayoze Perez found an equaliser for Newcastle in the 29th minute before Matt Ritchie sealed three crucial points for Rafael Benitezs men in the second-half.

Absolutely brutal…

Arsenals defeat at Newcastle means they have lost five consecutive away matches in the league for the first time since December 1984.

Its the story of the season, Wenger said following the defeat at St James Park.

70 per cent of the ball, 2-1 up. You wonder how we lose the game.

We concede two goals from nowhere.

In the second-half I feel some players paid a bit physically from having the game on Thursday night.

We played with good spirit but a bad result is the outcome. Its very hard to swallow.
