Arsenal are ready to beat Premier League rivals Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur to the transfer of Norwich Citys James Maddison after an impressive season in the Championship.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has scored 15 goals in his first full season with the Canaries and is set to leave Carrow Road at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Everton, Southampton and Brighton are also set to join the Premier Leagues elite in the bidding war for the youngster, with Norwich expected to command a fee of around £30million.

Maddison is earning just £13,000-a-week with the mid-table Championship side but could earn roughly four times that if he made the jump to the top flight of English football, according to the Mirror.

The England Under-21 international is widely expected to move, though, its unclear who will win the race to his signature.
