Hong Kong Betting Tips: Fast Most Furious can be Proactive and land win
REGULAR readers of this column should now be well versed on the advantages and disadvantages of low and high draws at Happy Valley.
Results since the turn of the year have highlighted just how valuable a low draw for speedy horses can be around the track, so it would be unwise to go against whats in the form book.
Racing takes place on the B track at Happy Valley today, and historically over the last three seasons, horses drawn in the prime numbers of stalls one and two, when racing over six furlongs, have a 29 per cent chance of victory.
Its the same story over the ex- tended mile, with low numbers having a distinct advantage over horses drawn high. Bear these facts in mind before placing your wagers.
The Class 3 Hong Kong Rugby Union Cup Handicap (2.45pm) over six furlongs holds centre stage at the Valley, with a dozen contenders all evenly matched and luck guaranteed to play an important role in the result.
There is little doubt the Zac Purton-ridden FAST MOST FURIOUS will be a popular choice with the local racing fans and punters following his desperately unlucky defeat when nosed out on the line over the course and distance last month.
On that occasion, after a daring and dashing run along the rails, the David Hall trained gelding found his path momentarily blocked with a furlong to race and the gap came too late.
There is no doubt he is a winner without a penalty, and from a good draw in five, he should sit closer to the leaders and make his impressive finishing burst count.
Keep an eye on speedy Prince Harmony who will dictate the tempo from the off and, after an impressive last start win, looks the principal threat.
The Hall and Purton combination will be hoping for a similar winning result when they combine with DR PROACTIVE in the five-furlong dash (2.15pm).
Blinkers are equipped for the first time on this talented but unpredictable gelding, who has had a few chances in his seven runs in Hong Kong.
He has finally drawn a prime inside stall so will hopefully get a dream run.
