Hong Kong Betting Tips: Talent bids to Sparkle in win at Happy Valley
JOCKEY Zac Purtons recent two-meeting ban for careless riding is looking costly in the race to become Hong Kongs champion rider.
While he was sitting at home frustrated, leader Joao Moreira moved further ahead in the jockeys championship and has now established a 15-winner cushion.
Purton will know its imperative he strikes back fast in his quest to land his second jockeys title, and he does have a good book of rides at the Valley to cut back the deficit.
As well as riding Dr Proactive and Fast Most Furious, he also climbs aboard ALL MY GAIN who has drawn the plum draw in race four over six furlongs (1.45pm).
The grey seven-year-old, who produced an encouraging effort when finishing strongly last month, won from a 3lb higher mark last season in a competitive Class 3 contest.
Down in grade, he looks certain to get a nice run from his favourable draw and will be hard to beat.
Purton also rides probable favourite, the well-drawn Raichu, in the opener (12.15pm).
This Australian-bred gelding is still looking for his first win after 15 attempts and may be worth opposing with SPARKLING TALENT.
The three-time winner is now 4lbs below his last winning mark on the B track at the Valley earlier in the season and is drawn for a trouble-free run.
A highly-competitive sprint in race seven (3.15pm) promises to be fast and furious with most of the con- tenders evenly matched on recent form.
It could pay to take a chance with useful JUMBO HAPPINESS who should improve on a recent encouraging effort after a five-month absence.
