It’s a boy: Duchess of Cambridge “safely delivered ” of her third child
The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy, Kensington Palace has announced.
The baby was born at 11:01, weighing 8lbs 7oz.
"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," the palace said.
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news."
This is Kate Middleton's third child, having given birth to Prince George in 2013 and Princess Charlotte in 2015
She was admitted to St. Marys Hospital, in Paddington, London "in the early stages of labour" at around 6am this morning. As with her other children, she gave birth in the Lindo Wing at St. Marys Hospital with her husband Prince William.
Kensington Palace announced that she was pregnant back in September, earlier than usual because she was suffering from a condition that causes extreme morning sickness. The palace later confirmed that she was due in April.
Her sister Pippa Middleton announced this morning she is pregnant with her first child.
