Racing Tips: Sevenna Star set to sparkle in Sandowns Classic Trial
TRAINER John Gosden has been in red-hot form in recent days having saddled five winners and a second from his last six runners before last nights racing at Chelmsford.
That included a double at Epsom on Wednesday and the Newmarket handler looks set for a decent afternoon at Sandown today.
His King Shield looks to have an excellent chance of landing the opening Bet365 Esher Cup (1.50pm), but Ill instead wait for SEVENNA STAR in the Bet365 Classic Trial (3.00pm).
The son of Redoutes Choice didnt set the world alight as a two-year-old but looked a different horse when reappearing at Windsor 10 days ago.
He bolted up by 14 lengths that day and a combination of a winter strengthening up and wind op look to have made a huge difference.
The ground certainly wont be anywhere near as bad this afternoon as it was that day, but both his mother and father handled a sound surface so todays going shouldnt bother him.
He faces some smart opposition here, notably the likes of Chilean and Hunting Horn, but at 10/3 with Ladbrokes he looks worthy of support.
This afternoons feature contest is the Bet365 Mile (3.35pm) and the Group Two prize looks at the mercy of recent Lincoln Handicap winner ADDEYBB.
The four-year-old was an effortless winner of that one mile handicap and steps up into Group company for the first time today.
He meets some seasoned milers here like Here Comes When and Sovereign Debt, not to mention the likes of Stormy Antarctic and Aljazzi.
However, it would be no surprise to see Addeybb climb right to the top of this division and the best priced 15/8 on offer looks worth taking.
