Nabil Fekirs move to Liverpool is off, confirm Lyon

The Ligue 1 giants released a statement on Saturday evening that confirmed Fekir wanted to join Liverpool but the move is off after Lyon put an end to negotiations.
Fekir is believed to have passed his medical with Liverpool in Paris on Friday but the club sought a second opinion over a knee issue.
Its been suggested that the Reds then tried to lower Lyons asking price for Fekir given the issue but Lyon now say the deal is off.
Olympique Lyonnais informs that the tripartite negotiations with the Liverpool club and Nabil Fekir for the transfer of the captain of OL have not succeeded and that Olympique Lyonnais has decided to put an end to this negotiation tonight at 20:00, a statement read.

Although the club Liverpool has been the priority of a possible transfer of Nabil, and subject to other proposals consistent with the interest of Nabil and OL and from ambitious clubs, Olympique Lyonnais is delighted soon to be able to count on the presence of his captain who is a leading rookie for this season 2018/2019 during which the club will play the Champions League being in the 3rd hat of the draw.

Liverpool had been confident on Thursday of completing a deal for Fekir before the weekend after agreeing a £53m fee with Lyon.
The Frenchman had attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid but he had his heart set on a move to Anfield.
However, Liverpool were not convinced by his medical and Lyon have taken the surprise step of releasing a statement to call off the transfer.
Their statement suggests they will not entertain bids from Atletico or Bayern.
