Sampdoria president appears to confirm Lucas Torreiras move to Arsenal
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero appears to have confirmed that Lucas Torreira will be joining Arsenal.
Torreira has made 74 appearances for Sampdoria since joining the Serie A outfit back in 2015 but it seems the midfielder has played his last match for the club.
The Uruguay international, who is currently at the World Cup in Russia, is set to complete a move to the Emirates for a fee of around £26million.
Its understood Unai Emery is an admirer of Torreira and views the midfielder as Jack Wilsheres long-term replacement, with the Englishman confirming his departure on Tuesday evening.

Asked about Torreiras future, Sampdoria chief Ferrero told TMW: Torreira has left for €30million, I bought him from Pescara when nobody believed in him.

We took a gamble on him and we won, paying just €3million.
The money that comes in will be used to capitalise the company.
Arsenal have already completed the signings of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno and Emery has many more players on his radar.
Borussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos is reportedly in line to join the Gunners next month.
The Greece international has undergone a medical and is set for a £16m switch to north London.
Sokratis father revealed that his son has turned down Manchester Uniteds advances to join Arsenal.
There was interest from United but for July, he had to wait until July for United, Charalambos Papastathopoulos told Radio 24/7 88.6.
United have a very good relationship with Dortmund, the teams speak a lot, but Sokratis chose to go to Arsenal.
