Rafael dos Anjos goes under the knife after coming close to losing ear at UFC 225
Rafael dos Anjos has undergone plastic surgery after the UFC welterweight almost lost his ear during a fight.
The Brazilian went to war with Colby Covington in an interim title fight at the start of the month, but took damage to his ear.
Dos Anjos had been experiencing issues with his ear and needed stitches just a few weeks before his clash with Covington.

The former lightweight champion has had recurring problems with his ear ever since hurting it in a sparring session with Michael Bisping in 2015.
MMA Fighting report Dos Anjos has needed stitches five times since that unfortunate sparring session, and again needed medical attention after his fight with Convington.

The cut suffered against Covington was incredibly deep and Dos Anjos has now moved to fix the problem once for all with plastic surgery.
Dos Anjos will not return to sparring for another six weeks, and can have the stitches removed in a fortnight.
The fighter is closing in on turning 34 years old, but has managed to establish himself as a serious contender at welterweight since moving up from lightweight.
The loss to Convington is a set-back, and Dos Anjos will be aiming to get back in title contention as quickly as possible.
