Arsenal players stunned by Unai Emerys decision to drop Aaron Ramsey against Chelsea
Arsenals players were left stunned by Unai Emerys decision to drop Aaron Ramsey against Chelsea, according to reports.
Wales international Ramsey started Arsenals opening game of the season at home to Manchester City last weekend before being replaced by Alexandre Lacazette in the second half.
Emery, who replaced Arsene Wenger as Gunners boss earlier in the summer, was said to be critical of Ramseys display against the champions and decided to leave him out at Stamford Bridge.

Ramsey was brought on in replace of Mesut Ozil with 20 minutes remaining but Arsenals stars – and Ramsey himself – were still shocked by Emerys team selection, according to the Daily Mirror.

Under Wenger, Ramsey developed into one of Arsenals most influential players and has popped up with crucial goals for the club.
But Emery has shown his ruthless streak immediately into his tenure as manager of Arsenal and the decision to drop Ramsey is said to have stunned some of his players.
Ramsey has been in talks over a contract extension for the best part of a year and the Gunners remain hopeful that he will extend his stay in north London.
That is despite Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United and a host of foreign clubs expressing interest in securing his signature.
Speaking after Arsenals 3-2 defeat to Chelsea, Emery said: It is clear the result is not good for us but the process is continuing.
Today, one thing in the first half is the reaction after 2-0, and also the efficiency. We had chances to more score in the first half.

I think we need to control the second half like we want, but we didnt play like the first half and our chances were less.
We need to continue working for what we want, our process. Today we had two midfielders – one 19 and one 21 years old.

We need to give them the confidence to play but our way, our process, is to improve and give these chances to the young players. I think today will prepare us well for the next matches.
