Manchester United transfer target Ruben Neves responds to Jose Mourinho praise
Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves believes his side displayed an exemplary attitude during Saturdays 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Nuno Espirito Santos side recovered from the early blow of conceding Freds opener to produce a mature, confident response which could have yielded more than just Joao Moutinhos equaliser, were it not for David de Geas customary excellence.
Jose Mourinho praised the performance of his Portuguese compatriots who impressed at the heart of a tenacious Wolves midfield and Neves insists his sides performance is unlikely to be a one-off.
We want to do this [play like Mourinho said Wolves did] every game, he said.
We want to play every game like it the last game of our lives. Its our job. You cant think about what youre going to do in the future until youve done things in the present.
We cant think about the opponent all the time. If we do things right its easier for us. Were never going to be afraid to play our football. They are not superheros. They are players and if we do things well we can make it difficult for other teams.
Mourinho on Neves & Moutinho
These two Portuguese boys (Neves and Moutinho), they are both the kind of player that likes to bite, that likes to short distance, to press, they dont give long time for you to have the ball, to turn, one touch, two touches, you dont have much of that.
United have earmarked Neves as a target and could make an official bid in January should fellow suitors Manchester City register a formal interest. Wolves, however, reportedly consider the former Porto star, 21, to be worth at least £100million.
