Arsene Wenger backs Thierry Henry to succeed at Monaco
Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Thierry Henry is a good choice for Monaco and is backing the Frenchman to succeed in his first steps into management.
Leonardo Jardim was sacked last week and Monaco turned to Henry, who has been serving as Roberto Martinezs assistant manager for Belgium, to take over the reins.
Henry spent five years with Monaco at the start of his career but the club have been struggling this term and sit 18th in the table.
However, Wenger believes Henry can turn the club around and is backing his former player.
Good choice, he has a lot of credibility, said Wenger.
He is very intelligent and understands football.
Like a lot of players on this high level, he has all the ingredients. Of course you always need a little luck and a good attitude.}}

Wenger managed for the first time since his departure from Arsenal on Saturday at a game for Per Mertesackers retirement.
The Frenchman was asked about Aaron Ramseys contract situation afterwards and says the Welshman is in a strong position despite the club withdrawing their offer to him.
I dont really know whats happening at Arsenal. Sure, Aaron Ramsey is in a strong position now and he will use this position.
But I dont know how far Arsenal will go in terms of giving him a huge contract. These things were once my responsibility, but not anymore. Im happy about that.
