Deontay Wilder apologises after breaking mascots jaw on live TV – invites him to Tyson Fury fight

Deontay Wilder has apologised after reportedly breaking the jaw of a mascot on live television.

While appearing on Spains Nacion ESPN, Wilder was invited to land a jab on the channels official mascot in a light-hearted piece to promote his heavyweight title fight with Tyson Fury.

However, the 32-year-old American shocked viewers by knocking the mascot to the floor with a devastating punch.

Both presenters appeared stunned and it was reported after the incident that the individual inside the costume was taken to hospital with a broken jaw.

Speaking out on Instagram, Wilder said: Yea, Anything headlining I didnt know a “Human Being” was in there is just straight “Click Baiting”.

Like come on now, I guess the Mascot rolled out there. show so [sic] respect! I sincerely apologize to the brave man that was injured (if this is true).

I have the up most [sic] high respect for him, his participation, willingness and courage.

If this is true Nacion ESPN I personally would like to invite him to my Dec.1 fight. Word Is Bond -CHAMP #BombZquad #PeoplesChamp.

Fury claimed that Wilder doesnt have anything to be afraid off ahead of their bout in Los Angeles.

If I can come back from mental health problems and [contemplating] suicide, I can withstand anything, the British boxer said.

Deontay Wilder doesnt possess anything Im scared of. Punches just bounce off me, they dont do anything. Im a powerful man.

I know when a mans scared – Wilders terrified of me.

Hes timid when hes around me. He looks at the floor, doesnt make eye contact, all that sort of stuff. Even when hes around me off stage.
