Nevada Athletic Commission regret releasing Conor McGregors UFC 229 purse after ban extended
Nevada Athletic Commission would not have released Conor McGregors fight purse if footage of the Irishmans role in the UFC 229 brawl surfaced earlier.
McGregor and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had their bans extended by the NAC this week as the Commission continue to investigate the fighters.
Nurmagomedovs fight purse was immediately withheld by the NAC after the Russian jumped over the octagon to attack a member of McGregors coaching team, Dillon Danis.

A mass brawl erupted and the two fighters were subsequently suspended by the NAC, who met this week to further discuss the incident.
A five-member board voted to extend the bans, but release half of Nurmagomedovs $2million fight purse.

McGregors fight purse was paid out in full after the brawl, but chairman Anthony Marnell III admitted the NAC should have held the Irishmans salary back too.
It is unclear what ban or fines Nurmagomedov and McGregor will face, but the pair must appear at a disciplinary hearing on 10 December in Las Vegas.
Marnell confirmed a life-time ban could be handed to either fighter, but it is unlikely that punishment will be dished out to either man.
McGregors manager Audie A. Attar released a statement after the news the 30-year-olds suspension was extended.
He said: I understand that the Nevada State Athletic Commission is doing a thorough investigation, which I am confident will benefit my client, Conor McGregor.
McGregor is already thinking about his next fight, but seems to have accepted an immediate rematch with Nurmagomedov is unlikely.
Nurmagomedov dominated the lightweight championship fight and submitted McGregor in the fourth round at UFC 229.
