Manchester City line up new deal for Bernardo Silva after brilliant start to Premier League season
Bernardo Silva is in line for a bumper new deal at Manchester City after his fine start to this seasons campaign, Metro.co.uk understands.
The Portuguese midfielder has started all but one of Citys nine league matches this term and has scored five goals in an impressive start to the season.
Silva made just 15 starts last season following his £44million arrival from Monaco but Kevin De Bruynes absence in the last two months has provided him with the opportunity to play in an attacking midfield role and hes more than proven his worth to Pep Guardiola.
The 24-year-old is a popular figure in the City dressing room and the club are ready to sit down with the midfielders representatives to discuss a new deal, Metro.co.uk can reveal.
Silva is barely 18 months into his City career but the club have recently handed fresh deals to fellow new recruits Ederson and Gabriel Jesus as they look to secure the teams long-term future.

The club have been working on new deals for Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling, though theyve made far more progress with the German.

Sterling is out of contract in 2020 and City do not want him to enter the final 12 months of his deal.
However, the winger is demanding wages in excess of £240,000-a-week to become one of Citys best paid players, while the club were aiming for closer to £180,000-a-week.
