Barcelona misfit Malcom tells club he wants January transfer amid Arsenal interest
Barcelona attacker Malcom has asked manager Ernesto Valverde to let him leave the club if he continues to be left out of the team, according to reports in Spain.
The unhappy Brazilian, whose situation is being closely monitored by Arsenal, Tottenham and Inter Milan, moved to Camp Nou in a £36.5million deal over the summer after the Catalan club hijacked Romas transfer at the last minute.
But Malcom has played just 25 minutes of action since joining Barca, and is yet to start a match for his new club.
According to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, he came back from international duty with Brazil and immediately asked for a meeting with Valverde in which he made it clear he needs more playing time.
For his part, the Barca boss told Malcom he had been training well, behaving professionally and is simply not in the team because other players are ahead of him in the pecking order.

In response, Malcom asked that he be allowed to leave in January if the situation does not change.
He is enjoying life in Barcelona and has adapted to the club well, but is aware of interest from the likes of Arsenal and Spurs and would be keen to test himself in the Premier League rather than sit on Barcas bench.
Malcom is at least expected to start for the first time on Wednesday night in the Copa del Rey against Segunda Division B side Cultural Leonesa.
He earned a big-money move after an impressive couple of seasons at Bordeaux, scoring 12 times and laying on seven assists last season.
