Lucas Torreira responds to Arsenal fans over Patrick Vieira comparison

Lucas Torreira admits hes flattered by Arsenal fans comparing him to Patrick Vieira.

The Uruguay international was signed for £26.5 million from Sampdoria this summer and has made a swift impact in central midfield under Unai Emery.

Torreira already looks set to key a key part of Arsenals resurgence as the Gunners have yet to lose with him in the team.

And Arsenal supporters are likening their summer signing to one of their greatest-ever players.

If the fans are comparing me and my game to Patrick Vieira, thats amazing. It makes me very proud but I need to grow a bit before I can be as tall as him! Torreira told Sky Sports.

But hes an amazing player, I remember getting up in the mornings in Uruguay to watch him.

I feel very happy and am looking to help the team.

Im trying to improve as a player and do whats best for the team.

Right now were doing very well so its just about doing that.
