Sturridge was heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool in the summer but the striker remained at Anfield for the 2018/19 campaign and has had a promising start to the season.

The England international is behind Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in the pecking order on Merseyside, but has impressed off the bench and in cup competitions.

While Sturridge is currently on four goals in all competitions for Liverpool, there was no place for the attacker in Gareth Southgates recent England squad.
