Real Madrid have contacted Marcus Rashfords camp to discuss a stunning move to the Bernabeu.

The 21-year-old has scored just two goals for United this term and is rarely played in his favoured central forward position under Jose Mourinho.

Madrid want to freshen up their side over the next 18 months and believe Rashford could be a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, who is likely to leave at the end of the season.

Rashford has halted contract talks with United to consider his future and Madrid have opened talks with his representatives to discuss a move, according to the Sun.

Rashford is concerned about his development under Mourinho and though hes never wanted to leave Old Trafford he feels he has no option but to consider his future.

The forward is said to be willing to speak to Real Madrid about a move to the Bernabeu but would want assurances over first team football.
