Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has admitted Frank Lampard was his favourite team-mate during his two spells at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian announced his retirement from football earlier this week, bringing an end to a trophy-laden career that was best known for his time at Chelsea.

Drogba left Chelsea in 2012 after scoring the winning penalty in a Champions League final shootout against Bayern Munich but rejoined the club two years later and won his fourth league title at the club under Jose Mourinho.

The 40-year-old played with the likes of Michael Ballack, Arjen Robben and John Terry in west London but Drogbas named Lampard as the player he enjoyed playing most with.

Theres one that Im going to put a bit more in front because most of my goals came from him, its Frank Lampard, Drogba told a Chelsea fan event in Tokyo.

Also because every day after training we were staying on the pitch trying to practise, trying to create some exercises because the ones we did a few days ago were becoming too easy.

So, we were trying to bring in new exercises and thats how we progressed and challenged each other to score goals, to create assists and for me I learned a lot from him.
