Sead Kolasinac speaks out on Mesut Ozil amid January exit talk
Sead Kolasinac insists Mesut Ozil is very important to Arsenal amid talk he could leave the club in January.
The Germany international has been the subject of intense speculation and Arsenal manager Unai Emery has done little to suggest Ozils long-term future belongs at the Emirates.
Ozil has been in and out of the team in recent weeks but Kolasinac defended his team-mate and hailed his unseen leadership qualities.
Asked if Ozil gets unfair criticism, he replied: Thats the case when youre a big star, like Mesut is.
Of course there are always negative headlines but, as a team, we dont pay attention to them and Mesut doesnt either.
Thats whats most important. Were all behind Mesut – all the staff, all the players.
If negative things are written, then thats just what happens. In life, not everything is positive – sometimes there are negatives written about you too, and hes had that. But with his performance [against Burnley] hes quietened a few critics.

Mesuts not the sort of player who will scream at you in public just to show the people on the outside that he tries to push us on.
Hell speak in the dressing room, hell go to every player individually. With his quality, he brings a lot to this team. Hes very important for us as a captain and as a player.
Ozil wowed supporters with a fabulous sweeping pass to the left-back, who then assisted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to put Arsenal 1-0 up against Burnley on Saturday, and thought it was a further sign of the Germans genius.
It was unbelievable, he said of Ozils pass.
We all know Mesuts qualities and I only actually made that run because I saw that he had the ball. Not many players would have been able to play that pass.
He can, and when I saw him get on the ball, I knew he was going to find me. It was a brilliant pass from him.
