Paul Pogba gave a passionate pep talk to his Manchester United teammates in the build-up to Ole Gunnar Solskjaers first game in charge at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

The 25-year-old was stripped of the vice-captaincy by Jose Mourinho earlier this season as the former United boss was unhappy with the midfielders attitude.

Pogba was also dropped from the team during the final weeks of Mourinhos reign and was even left as an unused substitute in Uniteds defeat to Liverpool earlier this month.

That loss at Anfield led to Uniteds decision to sack Mourinho and appoint Solskjaer as interim manager for the remainder of the season.

And the move appears to have had a significant impact on Pogba, who impressed in the 5-1 win over Cardiff City last Saturday.

The France international impressed once again in Solskjaers first game in charge at Old Trafford on Boxing Day as United eased to a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.

And before Uniteds players began their warm-up for the match, the clubs official tunnel camera picked up the message Pogba had for his teammates.

When we go, we go. Pressing, first ones, Pogba said to Uniteds players as they gathered in the tunnel.

If we lose the ball, we keep going.

Now we are at home. We are at home. Same, same, same.

We go strong, we start strong.

And Pogba led by example in that game as he scored twice in the second half to help United secure victory.

Speaking after the match, Solskjaer praised Pogbas display and says the World Cup winner is a United boy through and through.

Thats the Paul I have known since he was in the reserves and youth team, said Solskjaer.

Hes always been a happy boy, a big smile on his face and when you score two youre happy.

Its a response and Paul loves playing for this club.

Hes a Manchester United boy through and through and knows what it means to play for the club.
