Jermaine Jenas has slammed Chelseas transfer policy and says it makes no sense to sign Christian Pulisic and potentially sell Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Blues have won the race to sign United States international Pulisic, agreeing a £58million deal with Borussia Dortmund to bring him to the Premier League in the summer.

The move could pave the way for Hudson-Odois departure and the English teenager is said to be keen to leave Chelsea and join Bayern Munich, who have already tabled offers to Chelsea.

Jenas believes spending £58m on 20-year-old Pulisic to then sell Hudson-Odoi, 18, makes no sense and says it will be a blow to English football and the Premier League.

Buying Christian Pulisic who is 20 years old and selling Hudson-Odoi makes no sense, he told BT Sport.

You keep him, you know full well hes going to go to Bayern Munich and tear it up. Youll be sitting there as a Chelsea fan thinking “whats that all about?”

Weve lost another young English player out the league.

On the possibility of Chelsea selling Hudson-Odoi, Jenas added: I think its ridiculous personally.

When you have good young talent coming through, you harness it and give it an opportunity like Spurs done and like Man United have done recently as well.

Chelsea, meanwhile, progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday after beating Championship club Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The tie was goalless at the break but two goals in ten minutes from struggling striker Alvaro Morata put the game to bed.

Chelsea face Tottenham in the EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday night before returning to Premier League action by welcoming Newcastle United to west London at the weekend.
