Defender Andreas Christensen claims Chelseas players have already been informed that the club will serve their transfer ban and he will be forced to stay at Stamford Bridge as a result.

The west London club have been banned from registering new players until January 2020 after FIFA found they had breached rules regarding the signing of underage players in 29 separate cases.

Chelsea had protested their innocence and appealed the decision, but a request to freeze their transfer ban while the appeal was heard has been denied.

Christensen has grown frustrated with his lack of playing time under Maurizio Sarri and had hoped to leave the club in the summer for more first-team opportunities elsewhere.

But now he says the club are bracing themselves to be banned from making signings, meaning the current squad are going nowhere.

The messages weve got are that Chelsea cant appeal the case and therefore want to keep all the players, Christensen told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

He is understandably unhappy with the news, continuing: The situation I have ended up in has been very difficult to accept.
