Sam Curran on IPL hat-trick: The crowd was so loud – I couldnt hear myself think
England all-rounder Sam Curran took a hat-trick in the IPL to help Kings XI Punjab defeat Delhi Capitals.
Ricky Pontings Delhi looked on course to chase Kings XIs 166-6 as they moved to 144-3 in the 17th over.
But Curran, playing in his first Indian Premier League, took three wickets in three balls to dismiss Harshal Patel, Hanuma Vihari and Kagiso Rabada.
The 20-year-old wrapped up the win by bowling Sandeep Lamichhane as he finished with remarkable figures of 4-11 from 2.2 overs.

I didnt really know [about the hat-trick], the crowd was so loud, I couldnt hear my own thoughts, Curran said.
Against the Iocal batsmen who I didnt know where they hit, I had to ask the other guys. So that can get tricky. But we got over the line and hopefully we keep on winning.

Kings XI star Chris Gayle missed the match, meaning Curran was given a rare opportunity to impress at the top of the order.
He hit 20 off ten balls and said of his opening role: I just went out there trying to impress.
