Arsene Wenger reveals he turned down France managers job several times at Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has revealed he turned down the France managers job several times throughout his career.

The legendary French boss has been out of work since bringing his 21-year spell at Arsenal to an end last year.

Wenger, 69, won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his time with the Gunners and has been linked with PSG in recent months.

Speaking about his time out of management, Wenger revealed he had been offered the France managers job several times but decided to stay at Arsenal.

He told Le Parisien: Today, I miss the competition and at the same time, I want to spend time with the people I love, and my coaching career has completely absorbed me.

Even when I was physically with my loved ones, I was not completely there.

I could have become coach of the French team. I have been offered the job several times, but I liked my job more.

Today, Les Bleus are in very good hands, [Didier] Deschamps is doing a very good job and there is no reason for it to change.

PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United last month and Wenger says it seems the Ligue 1 champions are cursed in Europe.

He added: I do not know if I will come to PSG one day.
