Unai Emery responds to Mesut Ozil after Arsenal star threw his jacket at Everton bench

Unai Emery has defended Mesut Ozil after the midfielder threw his jacket at Evertons coaching staff during Arsenals defeat at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Arsenals top-four hopes were dealt a blow as Phil Jagielkas goal in the 10th minute secured victory for Everton.

And tensions boiled over in the 83rd minute as Dominic Calvert-Lewin was hacked down by Shkodran Mustafi.

Everton boss Marco Silva and his coaching staff began to argue with Emery but as the Arsenal manager went to confront his opposite number, Ozil hurled his jacket towards the home dugout.

The jacket landed at the feet of Emery and after the touchline spat had cooled, play continued and Everton were able to hold out for the win.

We need to limit our frustration and we are learning that, Emery said after the match.

[It was] not a good result but we are in a good way, we are fourth in the table.

We have a big match against Napoli in midweek and the next week against Watford is a positive game for us.

We lost but we need to get back up quickly and find the next win.
