Chelsea are ready to bring Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech back to Stamford Bridge in a brand new role behind-the-scenes as he prepares to retire at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old has already announced he will hang up his gloves in May, having lost his place in the Arsenal team to Bernd Leno, though the Gunners had hoped to convince him to stay on in a coaching role.

But, according to the Telegraph, Chelsea are confident he can be tempted back to the Bridge, where he spent 11 years winning multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League.

However, rather than taking on a coaching role, Chelsea want Cech to be part of a new-look technical staff, fulfilling some of the old tasks of Michael Emenalo.

Director Marina Granovskaia has taken on the majority of Emenalos old duties since he departed the club, but Cech would share some of the burden in terms of recruitment and bridging the gap between the board and the manager.
