Ian Wright explains how not to judge Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should be judged on his goals for Arsenal, not whether he gets heavily involved in matches, says Ian Wright.
The Gabon striker arrived at the Emirates amid much excitement and focus on the Gabon international will be intense.
Having effectively replaced Alexis Sanchez, comparisons with the Chilean are inevitable. However, while Sanchez is famed for his all-action displays as he constantly seeks the ball, Aubameyang is a very different type of player.

But former Arsenal striker Wright says it’s not important if Aubameyang hardly touches the ball as what he does with it can be lethal.
‘It’s been mentioned about Aubameyang not having enough touches in matches,’ Wright told BBC Radio 5 live.
‘He can get away with that.
He continued: ‘If he stays right at the top there and let him get on with it, then why do you want touches when you’ve got Ozil, Mkhitaryan and all those players?
‘You can stay on the edge and not touch it.
‘If Arsenal can play to his strengths, he’s that kind of player who could have four touches and score four goals.’

Aubameyang marked his Arsenal debut on Saturday with a goal in a 5-1 win over Everton.
During the match the new arrival had 25 touches while Alex Iwobi had 73, Henrikh Mkhitaryan 62 and Mesut Ozil 83.
