Arsenal legend Paul Merson cannot see Alvaro Morata staying at Chelsea amid Juventus transfer speculation
Arsenal legend Paul Merson cannot see Alvaro Morata staying at Chelsea as the striker continues to be linked with a move to Juventus.
Morata, 25, only joined Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer but is already being strongly linked with a departure from Stamford Bridge.
The early signs for Morata were positive – he scored seven goals in his first eight games for the club, including a hat-trick – but his form fell away after Christmas.

Morata has netted three goals for Chelsea in 2018 and he played just 15 minutes of Sundays dismal 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
Despite his poor form, Juventus are said to be hoping to strike a deal for Morata this summer – he spent two years at Juve being signing for Real Madrid in 2016.

And former Arsenal and England forward Merson believes the move makes sense for both Morata and Chelsea.
We talk about confidence, and hes lost his, Merson told Sky Sports. I cannot see him being there next season.
Theres talk today about him going to Juventus, I think that ticks the boxes. I just dont see him being at Chelsea.
I just dont think he suits the Premier League, hes not that kind of player.

So, unless they give him another year and hope he gets better, but theyre not going to play him and [Olivier] Giroud up front. For me now Giroud is the main man.
