Chelsea boost as Real Madrid cool transfer interest in Robert Lewandowski
Chelsea are now in pole position to sign Robert Lewandowski after Real Madrid pulled out of the race, reports say.
The Bayern Munich striker is angling for a transfer this summer and is weighing up his options.
Lewandowski wanted to join Real Madrid, but that switch seems to have been ruined by his below-par performance against them in the Champions League.

Real have been put off by Lewandowski after the man he would supposedly replace Karim Benzema out-performed him over the two legs, the Express claims.
As a result it seems Chelsea now have a free run at the Poland international who has enjoyed prolific season after prolific season in Germany.

Lewandowski bagged 29 league goals this season, winning the Bundesliga Golden Boot, and has 180 strikes in 257 Bundesliga appearances.
Chelsea want to cash in on Alvaro Morata after a disappointing debut season at Stamford Bridge and have identified Lewandowski as the perfect replacement.
Bayern may be interested in a swap deal, but have so far been dismissive of any talk of Lewandowski moving.
Lewandowski held a meeting with his agent, transfer expert Pini Zahavi, and has ordered him to find him a new club.
Bayern will not let Lewandowski leave on the cheap and are likely to demand a fee upwards of £80million for the 29-year-old.
Chelsea could lessen the blow of such an expenditure by recouping most of the £60m they paid for Morata a year ago.
