Manchester United make contact with Djibril Sidibe over summer move
Manchester United officials have held talks with Djibril Cisse but stopped short of making an official approach for the France international, reports say.
The Monaco right-back has emerged as a target for Jose Mourinhos side, with the Portuguese keen to strengthen his defence with more heavy spending this summer.
Juventus left-back Alex Sandro is thought to be a key target and United were said to be gearing up for talks with Sidibe last week.
United officials told representatives of the Monaco defender that he was on their summer shortlist, according to France Football.
After contact was made with the French star, though, little progress has been achieved.
Of course, one factor behind the lack of forward movement for the time being may be the World Cup, with Sidibe named as part of Didier Deschamps France squad.

The Red Devils may not want to hang about too long, though, as they face competition from Atletico Madrid for Sidibes signature.
