Maurizio Sarri has told Chelsea Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek is his No.1 transfer target in January, according to reports.

Piatek only signed for Genoa in the summer, but has taken Serie A by storm with nine goals in seven appearances, and 13 goals in all competitions.

The Pole put four goals by Lecce in the Coppa Italia, and has scored in every single league game this campaign.

Genoa are considering setting a £60million asking price for their star man and the Express claim Sarri is desperate to sign Piatek.

Napoli are also chasing the 23-year-old, with Juventus, Roma, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund sending scouts to watch the centre-forward in action this season.

Genoa have already moved to ward off interest in Piatek as the Serie A side fear January will see a flood of bids submitted.

We should absolutely exclude possibility of Piatek being sold in January, Genoa boss Giorgio Perinetti said recently.

He can improve even more so its hard to imagine the parameters and set his valuation now.

Chelsea will have the finaincial muscle to compete with most sides Europe and Sarri is eager to relieve some of the goalscoring pressure on Eden Hazard.

The Belgian is leading the goalscoring charts in the Premier League, but Chelseas No.1 striker Alvaro Morata has struggled to find consistency.

Two league goals hint at a slow revival for Morata, but the Spaniard has lost his spot to Olivier Giroud in recent weeks.
