Gareth Bale told his Real Madrid career is over during meeting with Zinedine Zidane
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has told Gareth Bale his career at the Bernabeu is over and he will be sold this summer.
The Welshman fell out with Zidane last season in the remaining weeks of his first stint as Real Madrid boss.
Bale was set to seek an exit from the club last summer but Zidane rocked Real Madrid chiefs by resigning less than a fortnight after they won their third consecutive Champions League title.
Zidane has of course since returned to the Bernabeu and the pair have failed to reconcile their differences with one another.
The Frenchman only agreed to return to his post on the basis that the club will back him in the transfer market this summer as he looks to rebuild.
Zidane wants to sign Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba and Luka Jovic and getting Bales £500,000-a-week wages off the books would aid Madrid in their recruitment drive.

Bale met with Zidane this week and the Frenchman told the winger he was not part of his plans and should leave once the season finished, according to the Daily Mail.
Bale was left out of Sundays win against Villarreal and is unlikely to be included in the final two matchday squads.
