Marseille offer Kevin Strootman to Manchester United
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Kevin Strootman on loan from Marseille, reports say.
The Red Devils were repeatedly linked with the Netherlands international during the reigns of David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, but a deal never materialised.
After leaving Roma for Marseille in 2018, Strootman became a regular for the French side, making 34 appearances this season.
But Sky Sports claim Marseille are in financial difficulty and need to ease their wage bill ahead of their final Ligue 1 game this campaign.
Marseille have offered Strootman to United on a loan deal, and have made the same proposal to Premier League duo Everton and West Ham.
Strootman, 29, could be a cheap option for United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces a crucial summer of transfers.
Solskjaer wants all his business done by the time his players return for pre-season in July and is targeting five signings.
